Mitigation
20/20™ is erp&m’s
planning software for guiding and supporting state and local
hazard mitigation planning. Mitigation 20/20™ provides
state and local officials with a comprehensive, detailed approach
to the development of a planning organization; preparation
of a multi-hazard state or local mitigation plan; and maintenance
of the mitigation planning process in future years.
More than 350 copies of Mitigation 20/20™
for local mitigation planning have been sold. The program
provides both technical guidance for the local mitigation
planning process, as well as the data-gathering and management
tools to support local efforts. It has been used by numerous
local governments to support, identify, and prioritize needed
projects and programs to reduce vulnerabilities to future
disasters.
Mitigation 20/20™ is also extremely
useful for documenting local mitigation planning efforts for
compliance with the Disaster Mitigation
Act of 2000 and to maintain a community’s eligibility
for federal mitigation grants.
The state-level Mitigation 20/20™,
available the summer of 2004, provides state mitigation planning
agencies with comprehensive guidance and tools to establish
a planning organization, conduct technical analyses, prepare
a state mitigation plan, and manage state and local mitigation
planning programs.
The state-level program is specifically designed
to electronically compile local mitigation plan data and use
it directly in the state planning process. Mitigation 20/20™
for the state-level includes data management and documentation
routines needed to document compliance with the Disaster
Mitigation Act of 2000 to maintain a state’s
eligibility for federal disaster relief funding.
